Kim S. Smith
Founder & Executive Director
Kim S. Smith is the Founder, Former Board Chair and now Executive Director of Second Stride, Inc., a 501(c)(3) transitional safety net aftercare program for thoroughbred horses.  Since its founding in 2005, Second Stride has grown into a leading national equine adoption program by horsemen for horsemen. Kim is also the Owner and Operator of Moserwood Farms LLC.

Development Manager: Amy Eirich leads the planning for our major fundraising events and maintains relationships with donors. Amy graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from University of Minnesota with a Master's degree in Business Administration.
Program Coordinator: Kate Olson plans and coordinates day-to-day fiscal, administrative and operational activities. Kate's ongoing responsibility is keeping track of all our adopted horses in a detailed database. She also helps the rest of us with anything needed at any time, like holding horses for pictures and posting on social media. Kate has worked in racing and aftercare for over 20 years. She holds a degree in Respiratory Therapy from the Univerisity of Louisville.
Community Relations Manager: Anne Steinbock introduces racehorse owners and trainers to Second Stride's services, shares Thoroughbred aftercare with tour groups and volunteers, safeguards program horses through adopter approvals and updates, assists with fundraising, and trains yearlings. Anne holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas, Austin, and has a background in education.
Equine Care and Training: Anne Iris Wasiljew is responsible for Second Stride horses' daily care, including grooming, hand walking, first aid, riding and training. She also meets adopters, vets, farriers, and prepares horses for the photographer. She aids in the departure and arrival of horses. Anne holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and enjoys eventing with her own horse in her free time.
