Kim S. Smith
Founder & Executive Director
Kim S. Smith is the Founder, Former Board Chair and now Executive Director of Second Stride, Inc., a 501(c)(3) transitional safety net aftercare program for thoroughbred horses. Since its founding in 2005, Second Stride has grown into a leading national equine adoption program by horsemen for horsemen. Kim is also the Owner and Operator of Moserwood Farms LLC.

Stewardship Manager: Amy Eirich coordinates outreach to supporters and assists with special projects. Amy graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from University of Minnesota with a Master's degree in Business Administration.
Program Coordinator: Kate Cooper Olson plans and coordinates day-to-day fiscal, administrative and operational activities. Kate oversees the database of all adopted horses in our program, in addition to many horse care responsibilities. She has worked in racing and aftercare for over 20 years and holds a degree in Respiratory Therapy from the University of Louisville.
Community Relations and Adoption Manager: Anne Steinbock introduces racehorse owners and trainers to Second Stride's services and safeguards program horses through adopter approvals, counseling and updates. Anne holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas, Austin, and has a background in education.
Equine Care and Training Manager: Anne Iris Wasiljew is responsible for Second Stride horses' daily care, including grooming, hand walking, first aid, riding and training. She also meets adopters, vets, farriers, and prepares horses for the photographer. She aids in the departure and arrival of horses. Anne holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and enjoys eventing with her own horse in her free time.
