Willow Oak

4 year old thoroughbred filly bred in KY
War Of Will (War Front) out of Joyful Cat by Kitten's Joy
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16 hands. She last raced on 3/21/25 and retired sound. We are not aware of any past injuries. We do not have her papers.

Willow is a sweet, athletic filly with over a year off track, spent in relation and light flatwork training.  She is intelligent and willing, and picks up on new skills quickly. Willow easily trots over raised ground poles and should be lovely to work with in any discipline.

Willow’s ground manners are very nice – she stands well for grooming, is polite when fed and when her stall is cleaned, and she walks nicely on a leadrope. She turns out nightly with three older mares and seems to be lowest on the totem pole, mostly grazing at a slight distance from the group.

Willow stands well for the vet and farrier. She enjoys her grooming sessions and seems to want to bond with her person. She was returned due to life changes from her previous adopter. She was well cared for and is in great condition and ready to continue her training!
