Unbending (Bindi)

11 year old thoroughbred mare bred in KY
Pleasantly Perfect (Pleasant Colony) out of Diboll's Slew (IRE) by Theatrical (IRE)

16 hands. She was retired in 2017 and was adopted to a dressage home. She was well cared for and is a lovely, straightforward mare. She does have pedal osteitis so she cannot jump. She will need her teeth floated within the next 6 months. We do have her x-rays. We do not have her papers.

Bindi has settled in well to our farm and is a pleasant horse to work with. She gets along very well with our mare herd and doesn’t seem to be the boss but does maintain her spot in the hierarchy of the herd. She is well behaved in the field and when she is in the stall. She stands nicely for bathing, grooming and fly spray. She stands nicely for the vet and farrier as well.

Bindi will require front shoes at ALL times. In her previous home, they switched between aluminum and glue ons. She has better luck with glue ons in wetter weather and her feet do best when she is out at night and in a stall during the day. She should wear fly boots if she must be out during the day to protect her feet when stomping flies. Her left front hoof is very flat footed. She may also benefit from a rim pad wedge shoe to change the angle of the foot.

She is an athletic girl who enjoys dressage training. When she isn’t training her dressage skills, she does enjoy a hack in an open field with friends. In the past, she did not seem to enjoy trail riding. She has had very good training and will be a nice prospect to continue up the dressage ranks with.
