16.2 plus hands. He has never raced and had no published works. In August of 2023 he was diagnosed with right front medial suspensory branch desmitis which is now healed. It was treated with stem cell therapy. 3/16/22 he had a left front P1 dorsomedial chip fragment removed. This is no longer an issue for him. He does have mild kissing spine. He is comfortable being ridden on the flat by a rider with a moderate or petite frame, but he cannot jump.
Tosho is a gentle giant who has already worked at a hunters barn, schooling on the flat and over poles and being ridden by skilled youth in a lesson program. He is a fun horse to ride – balanced and forward with a big rocking horse canter. He listens to his rider well and will continue to improve with work. Tosho rides consistently well walk/trot/canter in the arena and enjoys trail rides. He does spook occasionally on trail rides, so a steady, confident rider is needed in that setting
Tosho has excellent farm manners – he likes to be groomed, he ties on a single tie (no crossties), he walks nicely on a lead rope and and he is respectful of his handlers.
He is a very light cribber and it is controlled with a strap.
Tosho turns out well with other large, playful geldings. He can play rough and needs friends who can stand up to him, but he is not aggressive.
Tosho stands very well for the farrier.
