16 hands. He last worked on 6/9/26 and retired sound, non competitive. He was off on his right hind upon arrival, so is resting for 30 days (until July 11). X-rays taken at his entrance exam are clean and available to adopters for consultation with their vet.
Sam has settled in well to retirement and is making friends with other geldings. He is easy going and adapts well to changes in routine. Sam enjoys his bath and grooming sessions, walks politely on a lead rope, and settles down quickly to graze upon turnout. Occasionally he will be pushy if asked to stand still, but he does respect corrections. He is quiet in his stall but can weave at times. Having the right neighbor makes a difference – he is currently very happy stalled next to a mare and foal.
Sam has a lovely personality and is an enjoyable horse to have in your barn. We can see him thriving in may different situation, and with English or western riding. He should be suitable for any non-racing discipline.
He is a mild cribber.
A PPE is recommended for a high level sport career.
