16.3 hands. He last worked on 1/23/26 and retired with a right front sesamoid fracture. He is on round pen turnout until 4/26/26. If sound in early May, he can begin herd turnout with a quiet group of geldings. If he is sound at the walk in May, he can start walking under saddle. He should not do more than a walk until 7/23/26 if he is sound under saddle and sound trotting in the field.
He will be suitable for flat work. If he heals properly and remains sound under saddle, he could jump up to 2’3″. A PPE is recommended for sport use.
Sugar is a lovely gelding with a nice demeanor. He has done well with his rehab and is easy to groom and work with. He loves to be brushed and really appreciates a gentle brush on his face. He doesn’t like to be bothered while eating hay, but he will only pin his ears. He is fine if he is eating grain. Since coming off stall rest, Sugar has shown himself to be a very kind individual. He is very laid back and easy going. He is an expert hugger as well! He walks kindly on a lead rope and remains quiet while turned out. He doesn’t seem to have any drama in his personality and will love someone who is as low key as he is!
He loves his sweet treats and also loves his grain. He eats with vigor but prefers not to have anything hidden in his grain. He would prefer any supplements and medications, if ever needed, be given orally. This may change as he settles into a new home.
