School’s Out

4 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in OH
Kettle Corn (Candy Ride (ARG)) out of School Lass by Private School
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16 hands. He last worked on 3/22/25 and retired with bone bruising in the right knee. He had 60 days rest and is now sound under saddle. He should be well suited for eventing, h/j, dressage, hunter paces, and pleasure riding.

School is an easy going and in your pocket type guy. He is respectful of his handlers, walks nicely on a lead rope and is pleasant to work with in every way. School is a gentle guy and needs turnout buddies who will be kind to him. He does well with at least 16 hours of turnout per day (currently overnight), but does enjoy a fan in the heat of the day.

Under saddle, School is sensible, intelligent, brave and athletic. He leads the way on trail rides in new territory. He is forward when asked to be and has ready downward transitions. He moves bigger than he measures. School could be appropriate for an adult amateur or skilled youth rider, given the right training environment.

He is well behaved for the vet and farrier.

School is looking for a long-term or lifetime home. This will be expressed in his contract.

Listed application fees will be half off the listed price through August 1.
