16.1 plus hands. He last raced on 6/22/25 and retired with a right front splint bone fracture and suspensory injury. Due to the nature of the splint fracture, the bone may not fully heal. It does not bother him but may limit him to mid level jumping. He does have arthritis in the fetlock and a chip outside the joint. He may benefit from joint injections as performance expectations increase.
Carrington is a gorgeous dark bay gelding with a kind personality. Under saddle, Carrington is quiet, cooperative and seems born to be a hunter, dressage partner or low to mid level eventer. His transitions are prompt, he knows his leads, he went over multiple poles in a row on the first try, and he has a very pretty, fluid trot and canter. Carrington accepts new situations with ease – he went willingly past the scary unused jumps, the equipment shed, and the frisky pastured horses without issue.
On the ground, Carrington is well behaved and walks nicely on a lead rope. He was polite for the vet and farrier and stands nicely for grooming and bathing. Carrington enjoys turnout with an elderly gelding currently. He will transition to turnout with young, equally gentle friends soon. He does not like solo turnout.
Carrington only has one race under his belt and earned $9200. He should be a reliable partner in his next endeavor.
A PPE is recommended for sport use.
He was castrated on 3/19/26.
