16 hands. He last worked on 6/15/25 and retired with a slab fracture, right knee, that occurred on 7/7/25. He did have surgery and does have a screw in the knee. He is now sound and has had some jump training.
Lucky is the eye candy of the barn, and no one walks by him without giving him a pat and telling him just how handsome he is! This hasn’t gone to his head, however, as he is a relaxed and gentle guy.
Lucky is doing very well in his return to riding – sound, cooperative, and a quick learner. His rider says he’s “a gem.”
Lucky enjoys attention and will lower his head for kisses and scratches. He is a good friend in the pasture, enjoying turnout with other quiet or mildly playful geldings. He is polite for the farrier and vet.
Lucky should be suitable for any non-racing discipline.
