Heavy Roller

9 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Malibu Moon (A. P. Indy) out of Yara by Put It Back
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16 plus hands.  He last ran in December 2021 and retired with a right distal radius fracture and significant arthritis.

Heavy Roller is an absolute gentleman — intelligent, respectful, kind, with excellent ground manners. Roller loves attention and enjoys being ridden. He is always alert and is a real work horse – forward in the ring and relaxed on trails, even walking on a loose rein back to the barn. He looks great in both english and western tack.

He is currently turned out in a big field with several other geldings and does wonderfully. He is a gentle leader, even with smaller and young horses. He settles down quickly to graze.

Roller is best suited for flatwork and trails and hacking. He rides out well alone and with other horses.

Roller walks respectfully on a lead rope, enjoys being groomed, and will thrive in a loving home – he has a huge heart and is very affectionate.

Second Stride will pay his entry fee to the RRP if entered. He is also half off to a repeat adopter in good standing.

Roller stood well for our vet and farrier.
