16.1 hands. She last raced on 8/7/24 and was retired sound. She had lost interest in being a racehorse. She did come in with white line that is resolving with farrier care.
Hattie is a sensitive and intelligent mare who is settling in nicely to farm life. She enjoys nightly turnout in a large pasture with her mare friends, and she has been very receptive to grooming and affection as long as her handler has a slow, patient gentle approach. She especially loves light scratching on the underside of her neck and chest.
Hattie can be energetic on a lead line and needs a skilled adult handler. She was initially suspicious of her hind legs being worked around, but this passed in just a few days – we think the speed with which Hattie learned to accept hind leg contact shows great promise for her to become trusting and quiet in any situation. The skilled adopter who will willing take time to bond with Hattie will be rewarded with a very athletic horse who would be beautiful in the dressage ring and should be suitable for any non-racing discipline.
Hattie is forward and balanced under saddle. She listens well and enjoys a job.
Hattie was well behaved for the vet and farrier.
