Curmudgeon

2 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in Florida
He's Had Enough (Tapit) out of Jane Reaction by Concorde's Tune
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16 hands. He has one race and last worked on 10/4/21. He retired with a left front superficial digital flexor bow that happened on 10/11/21. He is currently on stall rest for until mid November. He is currently walking and trotting sound upon exam and will return to full athletic potential with proper rehab.

Our vet recommended tendon protocol which states that once finished with stall rest then, if quiet, will start his round pen turnout for 30-60 days. After a reevaluation, if healing properly, will transition to small paddock turnout for another 30-90 days. At 4 months post injury, if vet agrees, will start ground work, 6 months light riding, 1 year before returning to full work. Please consult your vet for additional rehab guidelines.

Curmudgeon is a kind gelding that stood well for our vet and farrier. He loves to be groomed and stands still without being held. A very well behaved boy especially for a 2 year old. A diamond in the rough! He is playful and curious and a real eye catcher. He stays quiet in his stall and doesn’t cause any trouble with his neighbors. He will be a great partner and is sure to turn heads anywhere you go!
