16 plus hands. He last raced on 11/28/23 and retired with arthritis in the right knee. We do have x-rays. He is currently sound. He was castrated on 12/15/23.
Buckeye is an easy going guy who is kind, intelligent and confident. He stands nicely for grooming, bonds quickly and enjoys interaction with people. He is quiet for the vet and farrier and is respectful of his handlers. Buckeye gets along well with his pasturemates.
Buckeye is extemely willing under saddle. He carries himself very nicely at the walk and trot and walks over poles without issue. Buckeye handles himself well in the midst of distractions like pastured horses galloping, tractors passing, and windy weather.
He does need bell boots to protect his heels.
He should have full athletic ability but a prepurchase exam is recommended for an athletic career.
