16.1 plus hands. He last raced on 12/21/24 and retired sound. He did have a right front P-1 chip removed in 2023. He is currently sound.
He was castrated on 1/7/25.
Bernie is learning to settle into retirement and farm life. He seems to be athletic and intelligent, and we haven’t noted any vices. He is respectful of his handlers and is quiet in his stall.
Bernie is a lovely horse to work with and has a lovely, floaty gait when trotting around freely. He is well behaved, albeit a talker, but doesn’t cause any trouble in the barn. He does like to play with his neighbor over the stall door and you will find him looking over the stall wall watching what you are doing with his neighbor. A fun playful horse. He is a touch nervous when grooming, but we expect this to get better with time.
Bernie was well behaved and relaxed under saddle. He listened well to his rider and did what was asked of him. He has an elongated trot that screams dressage. He did require some leg to keep him going forward, but he kept his mind on task and did very well.
He should be suitable for any discipline.
