16 hands. He last raced on 6/15/24 and was retired. We are not sure of his injury history. He is comfortable walk, trot and canter on trails and would need joint support for flatwork due to arthritis in his fetlock.
A gorgeous gray gelding with dapples and huge blaze. Bel is a kind boy who loves attention, grooming, trail riding, and carrots. He has a playful nature and occasionally needs his rider handler to remind him of manners. He crossties well and is well behaved for grooming, tacking up, vet and farrier.
Under saddle, Bel is a champ – he loves exploring the farm on long country rides and rides well alone and in a group. Bel is experienced with riding through open fields, over bridges, past farm machinery, deer, buzzards, etc. and keeps his cool in windy weather. He can lead or follow and is a great partner for less experienced horses. Bel enjoys walk, trot, canter rides – his trot and canter are not sport-sound but he is happy at these gaits for pleasure riding. Although he is generally quiet under saddle, Bel occasionally will hop and squeal when long grass tickles his belly, etc. – he needs a rider who is comfortable with those brief moments.
Bel currently turns out with a three year old gelding. He is not suitable for turnout with mares.
Bel will make the world’s most beautiful trail horse and is ready to meet his new partner and add some eye candy to his new barn!
He was castrated in April 2025.
Adoption fees for long time in the program horses and walking sound only horses will be half off if adopted and picked up by 10/31/25. This applies to experienced horse owners or those boarding and working with a trainer only.
