16+ hands. Austin last raced on 3/30/24 and retired sound. He has had 1 1/2 years of dressage training. He would also make a very nice hunter or event partner.
Austin is a kind and charismatic gelding who has settled in well to farm life. He loves routine – he is happiest being cross tied, groomed, and ridden five to six days a week, and relishes a bath and hand-grazing afterwards. Austin loves his small luxuries – a soft bed, the fan on, extra-extra hay, carrots and cookies, fly gear and a very gentle pasture mate.
Under saddle, Austin is willing, responsive and a very quick learner. He carries lessons over into the next ride very consistently, and makes steady improvement. He enjoys arena work and hacks out happily alone or in company. He does needs reassurance at times if hacking alone.
He stands well for the vet and farrier and walks nicely on a lead rope. He prefers to be alone in his stall until finished eating his grain.
Austin is looking for a long-term, committed adopter.
