16.2 hands. He raced once and last worked on 8/7/25. He retired with a torn suspensory, left hind and had a chip removed in summer of 2025. He is currently on round pen turnout until 2/19/26. He will then need a new scan for soundness and turn out possibility.
Land of the Free is a recently gelded 3 year old who seems to be very laid back. He walked off the van calmly and settled into the stall quickly. He is quiet when in a stall and quiet in the round pen. He settles down quickly and doesn’t bother his neighbors. He walks very well on a lead rope, slow and steady, not looky or spooky at all. He is respectful of his handlers and was well behaved for grooming. His attitude is gold and we really can’t say enough about this guy’s personality and demeanor. He could possibly make a nice lesson or family horse once his rehab is over.
If he heals well and is sound in February, he should be good for any discipline. He will definitely be suitable for flat work. A PPE is recommended for an athletic career.
He seems to be intelligent and kind. He is well behaved for vet and the farrier.
