16.1 hands. He last raced 6/18/25 and retired. He has arthritis in both knees and front fetlocks. He is suitable for pleasure riding, currently riding well at all gaits on good footing.
“Stevie” is straight forward, big bodied youngster who has a good work ethic but needs help focusing sometimes. He is very pleasant to ride – a nice walk, big trot, uphill canter – though he needs to practice sensitivity to directional aids. Stevie has been on several farm rides alone and in groups, and he is quiet and confident in groups. Alone, he may worry about new objects but will pass them, given a moment to think. Stevie is working on not rushing back to the barn when riding out alone.
Stevie is easy to work with on the ground – he likes being groomed, he leads well, he ties well with supervision, and he is polite at feeding and stall cleaning time. Because he is a young, tall Thoroughbred, though, he will need a handler comfortable with brief moments of energy or nerves.
Stevie does well in a turnout group with other gentle geldings. He cannot stand up to horses who play rough.
