16 plus hands. He last worked on 7/1/25 and was retired. He has 2 screws in his right front ankle due to a condylar fracture in 2024. He has a left front tendon irritation that occurred in late July 2025.
Istan settled into farm life beautifully. He is quiet in his stall, friendly with his pasture mates, and is well behaved for his handlers. He stands still for grooming but does like to play with your hair, shirt, etc. He seems to be an easy keeper and will be a fun horse to work with. He has that type of personality that draws everyone to him and they will instantly fall in love!
Istan is a big, athletic young horse who’s ready for a rider that enjoys the process of bringing one along.
He’s already working nicely off the leg at the walk and trot, understands his transitions, and is building a solid foundation. With consistency and confident guidance, he’s going to progress quickly.
