16 hands. He last raced on 6/5/24 and retired with a right front knee fracture. He is sound at a walk, trot and canter for pleasure riding and dressage.
Imploding aka Odie is a big horse in a little body – a perfect partner for a rider who likes an intelligent and ambitious horse. He paws at his stall gate – asking to go on a ride – whenever his neighbors are taken out. This guy is always ready for an adventure!
In the ring, Odie likes puzzles with poles and obstacles. He is beginning to reach into contact at the trot and responds promptly to upward and downward transition cues.
Even just at a walk, Odie puts every he’s got into his rides – forging ahead on the trail, the first to cross a creek, interested in what’s beyond the clump of trees, etc. He loves to explore and is respectful of his rider’s requests. He may jig or break into a trot, but it’s only eagerness to see what’s ahead, and he settles quickly. Odie rides well in groups or alone.
Odie has excellent manners on the ground – very polite on the lead line, for bathing, etc. He stands well for the vet and farrier. He does best with older, settled geldings in the field. He currently turns out overnight for 16 hours per day.
Odie is sensitive to cold rain and will need a shed or blanket for wet fall and winter weather.
Odie measure 16 hands but has a small frame – he’ll be best for a petite rider.
