16 plus hands. She last worked on 4/27/24 and retired sound. She only had 3 races, 1 in Fr and just 3 published works. She did have a torn right front tendon in May of 2023. That is now healed.
Gromantine is a kind filly that has settled in quickly to our farm. She is very quiet in her stall and settles down quickly upon turnout. She gets along well with other mares and doesn’t seem to have any vices though she does like to protect an older mare she is out with. She was said to travel well and was very quiet on the ride.
Gromantine enjoys being groomed and is respectful of her handlers and their space. She seems intelligent and calm. We have not seen any vices. You will find her looking out her stall door or window when she is in, and she enjoys and good pat on the head or neck when you walk by her. In her stall, she can be a little unsure when you are with her, however, she does well if you groom her, give medication, etc., outside of the stall.
Gromantine was well behaved under saddle on her first ride and didn’t shy away from ground poles on first encounter. She has a lovely trot but does require a touch of leg to keep her moving forward. She seems to be an athletic mare who will make a nice project or partner to bring along. She should be suitable for any discipline. She can be a bit spicy under saddle, so a more experienced rider, would be best for her right now.
