16 hands. He last worked on 9/3/23 and retired with a left front suspensory injury. He is currently sound. He has limited vision in the left eye.
This horse is going to be a rock star. In his first ride, Kinison was relaxed and well behaved under saddle. He seemed to enjoy being back to work. Kinison did not shy away from drills and hammering going on in our arena. He was calm when first seeing himself in the mirror. He works confidently in various environments – indoors, in large fields, and in smaller outdoor environments surrounded by trees, buildings and farm activity. On the longe line, he is well behaved and quick to learn. Kinison has an excellent brain and once fully rehabbed from his suspensory, should go on to excel in most any career. Kinson has a moderate energy level and may do well with a youth rider after training.
On the ground, Kinison is equally sweet and easy going. He walks nicely on a lead rope and is respectful of his handlers. He was good for grooming and loves having his face washed. He stands quietly on cross ties. He has not been afraid of anything happening outdoors.
He currently turns out with other geldings and does very well.
Kinison is currently walk/trot only to ensure full healing of his suspensory. He will be ready for full work in any discipline in August. The limited vision in his left eye has not affected his training so far.
