Visit our flagship farm in Oldham County, Kentucky to learn about Second Stride and see our amazing adoptable thoroughbreds preparing for new careers. Tours last one hour and must be booked by appointment. Tours are offered for groups of all sizes on both weekdays and Saturdays. All tours must be booked via Horse County.
Tours are family friendly, and guest’s experiences may include:
- meeting and greeting retired racehorses in barns and paddocks
- learning about Second Stride’s 20 year history and how we partner with the horse racing industry
- watching training sessions ( if available) designed to teach skills these horses did not learn as racehorses
- observing how horses are evaluated and prepared for adoption
- watch farrier and vet demonstrations (if available)
- special Ky Bourbon tastings upon request (additional fee required)
- learn how thoroughbreds are powered from the inside, how they are trained on the track vs off
- learn why they only sleep 2-3 hours a day and how they sleep standing up
- learn unique Ky Derby trivia

Public tours are priced at $20 for adults and $11 for children. Private tours are priced at $150 for the first four guests, and then $37.50 for each additional guest up to ten. This is a walking and standing tour on a working horse farm. Closed toed shoes are recommended. Tour goes rain or shine.
