Warm wishes and good health to all of you as we begin 2022. Second Stride ended a wonderful 2021 with 143 adoptions, the second highest adoption rate of any year since our founding. We look forward in the new year to expansions of our training, tour and volunteer programs, as well as formalizing programming for retired broodmares. Second Stride was honored in 2021 to serve several multiple graded stakes winners and horses from the nation’s most respected trainers. We also, as always, maintain our commitment to finding the right job and a safe home for any Thoroughbred of the racing industry – they are all stars!!
Bourbon Lane Stable paves the way for Second Stride’s work in 2022. Their generosity and commitment to transitioning racehorses make our work possible!
Blanket donation – just in time for snow and freezing rain!
Many, many thanks to Weatherbeeta, State Line Tack and Horse.com for this incredible gift!
Every horse at Second Stride has been snug and dry this winter thanks to the Cover Your Horse Comfort Another Blanket Donation Program.
Introducing ’20 Exchange Cat! Gentle and well-socialized, this 15-hand two year old is broke and ready to learn. An off-set knee has led him to a future other than racing, but his willingness and kind spirit would be real assets in flatwork, low-level hunter/jumpers, fox hunting, and trail riding. Calm in the field and in the stall, he will be a wonderful companion for humans and horses alike in his next home. Check out videos and photos of ’20 Exchange Cat and the other horses now available for adoption!
