Second Stride, Inc. Board Member Sara Dorman

Sara grew up on a small horse farm in Wisconsin and began riding at the very young age of three. She has experience with hunters and jumpers and also worked on the racetrack. Sara has owned horses including a Second Stride graduate, adopted in 2014, which she started in training and generously passed along to the U of L Equestrian team in 2016. Sara is pictured here with that horse, "Ten Indian".

Sara has extensive volunteer experience both domestically and internationally. In addition to volunteering with Second Stride, Sara volunteers at Kosair Childrens Hospital with her dog, Juan, in a pet therapy program through WAGS. Sara also sits on the board of directors for the Blackie Huffman Fund at Churchill Downs.

Sara is a graduate of Lawrence University in Wisconsin and attended graduate school in Chicago at Loyola. She holds a degree in molecular biochemistry and works for a microbiology company doing technical sales, support, and formulations for the industrial fermentation industry.
